AHSLEA is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Macgill as Executive Officer, succeeding Dennis King, who retires at the end of June.
Carolyn brings extensive experience in association management, including 12 years with the Australian Industry Group. Over a career that has encompassed senior leadership roles across multiple sectors including as Director, General Manager and CEO, where she has developed a strong foundation in export advisory services, regulatory compliance, governance and strategic advocacy, with a deep understanding of trade policy and its practical implications for industry.
Carolyn’s relationships within the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry span multiple branches, including the Export Standards Branch and the Non-Prescribed Goods Branch, and extend to the First Assistant Secretary level. These well-established connections will be a valuable asset for AHSLEA members, providing access to senior networks and the ability to escalate matters effectively when needed.
“I am delighted to be joining AHSLEA at such an active and important time for the industry,” Ms Macgill said.
“I look forward to working with members, building on the strong foundation that has been established, and supporting the sector as it navigates the opportunities and regulatory developments ahead.”
In welcoming the appointment, AHSLEA President Victor Topper said, “Carolyn brings exactly the kind of experience and capability this role requires, with deep association management expertise, a strong understanding of export and regulatory environments, and a collaborative approach that will serve our members well.
“We look forward to working with Carolyn and to the experience, insight and leadership she will bring to the Association and our members.
“On behalf of the Board and the membership, I would also like to acknowledge Dennis King for his dedicated service to AHSLEA. His commitment has been greatly valued, and we will recognise his contribution formally at a later date.”
Dennis will remain in an advisory capacity during the handover period to ensure continuity of service for members.
